Replicating CygNet Measurement Data
Data synchronization and replication of FMS services can be set up to support functional and enterprise purposes in CygNet Measurement. You can achieve both disaster recovery and business usage goals, depending on how you configure the system. This occurs by designating Master, DR Slave (disaster recovery), and Business Slave services in the FMS configuration file (CygNet\Services\FMS\fms.cfg) and specifying the details of their relationships. Replication is user-configured only; no data synchronization is in place by default.
Factors influencing how you choose to set up replication to support your goals include the following.
- Operational mode (FULL or REPOSITORY)
- Database type (internal or external)
- Replication mode requirements (Master, DR Slave, Business Slave(s))
- Data retention requirements (Master vs Business Slave needs, FMS database vs archived records database)
See FMS Replication and Data Synchronization for more information about implementing and utilizing replication for your FMS services.
